Loan data: applications, interest rates and salaries

Here we publish what people tell us when they apply for a loan: how much they want, what for, how much they earn and what loans they already repay. The data comes from 36,056 CREDiPORT applications from October 2023 to October 2026 and 14,564 CreditArena applications from June to October 2026.

Next to these are the official figures that people thinking about a loan look for most often: the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) interest rates and the National Statistical Institute (NSI) salary data. Each page has a methodology, a CSV with the summarised figures and a ready-made text to cite.

Where the data come from

CREDIPORT AD, which stands behind CREDiPORT and CreditArena, is entered in the BNB register of credit intermediaries under No. BCI000061. People submit a loan application through crediport.bg and creditarena.bg, and we send it to the lenders.

We publish only summary figures for groups of at least 50 people. Names, personal identification numbers (EGN), telephone numbers and addresses do not take part in the analysis. Amounts from before 2026 are in leva and have been converted into euro at the rate of 1.95583.

Applicants are not a sample of all Bulgarians. The figures describe the people who look for a loan with us, and how they themselves describe their income and debts.

The interest rates come from the BNB interest rate statistics and the salaries from the National Statistical Institute (NSI). We reproduce them without changing the figures, and each page says which month they are from and when the next release is due.

How to cite

Cite CREDiPORT, the page title, the month of the data and the address. The data pages and guides have ready-made text in the “How to cite” section and a CSV with the figures. For questions about the data write to office@crediport.bg, and materials for the media are in the media centre (in Bulgarian).
